Class 1: Drawing with Perspective | Galleria Dante

December 15 @ 11:00 am - 4:00 pm CST
$1500

Let’s draw 3D scenes in 2D by free hand. We study the point, line and space as instruments for creation. Learn to sketch as a starting point to a drawing, painting or idea, with an emphasis on adding 3D perspective.

As a trained architect, Ricardo teaches how sketching with pencil as a starting point for artistic expression will allow you to polish your idea or concept before committing. To learn perspective drawing, we will start with understanding the basic concepts like vanishing points and horizon lines, which help create the illusion of depth on a flat surface. Practicing with simple shapes, such as boxes, and gradually moving to more complex scenes will enhance your skills. Learn to draw your lines to one or many vanishing points to stretch the perspective of your drawing. Sketching and drawing are critical skills for representing your ideas before painting watercolors.

This is Class 1 of a six-class series, with each class building on the previous one. Experienced watercolor artists are welcomed in all classes. Students who attend both Classes 1 and 2 will receive a complimentary 3-hour “plein air” painting session with Ricardo on Friday, December 18th, from 11 AM to 2 PM.

ALL PROFESSIONAL MATERIALS INCLUDED.
