Watercolor: Spontaneity & Technique | Workshop at Galleria Dante

In this hands-on watercolor workshop, Ricardo Sánchez invites participants to explore watercolor as a spontaneous and expressive medium, balancing technique with intuition. The session focuses on letting the material speak — embracing movement, transparency, and controlled unpredictability.
Participants will dive into color theory, abstraction, and the relationship between the subject and the painted gesture. Special attention is given to brushwork and water control, including dynamic techniques such as splashes and fluid transitions.
What you’ll explore:
- Essential color theory for watercolor
- The “object” versus abstraction
- Brushstroke control and expressive water effects
This workshop is ideal for artists of all levels who want to loosen their technique, gain confidence with watercolor, and deepen their expressive approach.
All materials are provided.
Cost: $1,500 MXN
This workshop may be taken on its own or as part of the two-session series, with a special rate offered for participants attending both.
