Art Walkers 2026 – CARNIVAL

February 8 @ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm CST
Event Series (See All)
Free

Art Walkers is an annual cultural project that celebrates creativity and community, transforming the Lake Chapala region into a living gallery. Designed to promote the creation, exhibition, and appreciation of contemporary art, it invites visitors to connect directly with artists and cultural spaces through an open and participatory experience.

During this three-day event, the streets of Ajijic, Riberas del Pilar, and San Juan Cosalá come alive with color and expression. Galleries, studios, and independent workshops open their doors, offering the public a chance to explore, engage, and discover the work of local, national, and international creators across disciplines such as painting, sculpture, photography, and printmaking.

The 2026 edition — themed CARNIVAL — will take place on February 6, 7, and 8, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (with special hours in San Juan Cosalá from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.).

Ricardo Sánchez will be participating in this vibrant celebration of art and culture, painting live throughout the event at Elaine’s Studio, located at Paseo de la Pesca #261, La Floresta, Ajijic, Jal. (between the streets of Paseo del Mirador and Paseo de la Loma). He will be joined at this location by fellow artists Elaine Frennet and Joan Franklin, who will also be exhibiting their work. Come say hello, meet the artists, and experience their creations up close in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

Art Walkers continues to grow each year, strengthening the creative community around Lake Chapala and bringing together artists, collectors, and visitors in a shared appreciation of art and its power to inspire.
